2018 Dallas Crimes Against Children Conference!
This will be a great opportunity to network with and learn from other child abuse experts and multidisciplinary professionals from across the country while simultaneously getting to know your Michigan CAC colleagues better....all while in the Lonestar State!
August 13 - 16, 2018
Learn more about the conference here.
What do scholarships cover?
Scholarships include the conference registration fee and hotel for 4 nights (check in August 12th, check out August 16th) for ONE attendee.
What costs will my CAC be responsible for?
Each respective CAC is responsible for travel costs and meals & incidentals. Please note that breakfast is provided at the conference each day, but lunch and dinner are NOT provided.
How will MINCA decide who receives a scholarship?
Each CAC is allotted ONE scholarship for ONE attendee. The CAC will decide what staff member attends the conference. Should some CACs decline to apply for a scholarship, CACs that did apply may be able to send more than one person. If you are able to send more than one person, please indicate this on your application. Extra spots will be distributed by way of lottery system.
Should I go ahead and register for the conference, book my hotel, and airfare?
DO NOT register for the conference. We will register for you. DO NOT book a hotel room. That has already been done for you. You may go ahead and book airfare/ground transportation for ONE person. Please wait until you have heard if there are extra spots to send more than one person before you book travel for a second person.
Is there a deadline for applying?
The deadline to complete this scholarship application is Sunday, April 29. No late applications will be accepted.
What am I committing to by completing this scholarship application?
You are committing to:
A) Sending one representative from your CAC to the conference
B) Funding your attendee's travel costs and meal & incidentals
- Please DO NOT apply for a scholarship if you are unsure whether or not you have funding for your attendee's travel costs and meal & incidentals.
Okay, I applied. Now what?
If you are awarded a scholarship, you will be contacted with further instructions. If you like, you may go ahead and book airfare/ground transportation for ONE person. Please wait until you have heard if there are extra spots to send more than one person before you book travel for a second person.
