    Job description:

    BSW and/or MSW preferred to provide advocacy for child victims of sexual abuse and their non-offending caregivers within the criminal justice system.  Ideal candidate has full Michigan licensure, several years of experience working with children and families, trauma informed, child welfare system experience, knowledge of the criminal justice system, and experience working with a Multi-disciplinary team.  Bi-lingual preferred.  Full time position with excellent benefits.

    General Statement of Duties:

    Responsible for performing professional work in the field of mental/behavioral health assessment, treatment and prevention work.  Provide crisis counseling and therapy to child victims who have experienced sexual abuse, severe physical abuse or witnessed violent crime.  Therapeutic services will also be provided to non-offending families members as needed.  The Crisis Counselor participates in pre- and post-forensic interview MDT meetings and provides advocacy and support services to clients at the Lenawee County Child Advocacy Center (LCCAC).  This work is confidential and requires training in trauma focused counseling.

    • Must hold a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Professional Counseling.
    • Must be licensed in the State of Michigan.
    • Must have excellent observation and documentation skills.
    • Must pass a criminal background check.

    Care House, the Macomb County Child Advocacy Center has two newly-created positions to fill as part of a new expansion into a satellite center!  Macomb County is part of the vibrant and exciting metropolitan Detroit area.     Development Coordinator

    Children’s Assessment Center of Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a development coordinator for fundraising and donor cultivation.  Includes preparation of donor mailings, database management, report preparation, and tasks related to monthly tours and annual fundraising luncheon and donor cultivation events.  Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalency and must have minimum two years experience working in fund development, with experience in Benevon model and DonorPerfect preferred. Candidates should demonstrate ability to ability to juggle multiple projects, conduct self in professional manner, and work well with team of volunteers and staff.  Excellent written and oral communication, intercultural, and interpersonal skills required. Bilingual preferred.     The Northern Michigan Children’s Assessment Center in Roscommon is seeking a full-time Family Advocate to provide support and information to children and non-offending caregivers when there have been allegations of child abuse. The Victim Advocate will assist families in accessing needed services: immediate crisis intervention, applications for Crime Victim Compensation, long term counseling at or outside of the CAC, medical care, emergency financial assistance, and other resources to resolve issues related to victimization, including reduction of barriers to those services. A Bachelor’s degree in the human service field required. If interested, apply by June 30th.

    The Child Abuse Council/Children’s Advocacy Center of Muskegon is seeking a Master’s Level Therapist - Social Worker or LPC to facilitate therapy in a part time capacity for children ages four to seventeen. Applicants should be willing to work from 1:00pm - 5:00pm Monday through Friday.  Experience with Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and counseling children would be beneficial. The position provides an opportunity to work in an environment with a dedicated and compassionate staff providing support to children and families.

     Responsibilities include:

    • Facilitating therapy for children who have experienced sexual or physical abuse.
    • Maintaining case notes for clients
    • Learning and utilizing computer data system NCA TRAK -updating information
    • Managing client files; opening new files; closing old files in the electronic system
    • Providing court support for children who need to testify in court
    • Supporting co-workers in a team environment
